The title almost implying that the life that I had back in Australia is shattered, could be... With time comes change and with change comes lessons, experiences and stories. 9 months after my last journal entry and without a single upload onto the site, it pretty much feels that the old life is shattered. Not in the worst way of course, although the new location doesn't offer the services of a civilized country... it doesn't mean that it doesn't offer friends, adventures and love. After deciding that I should take a break from the old camera and emphasizing that I should go back to the older days... The ones that I would go on always on a set of adventures and get into maximum trouble. Although... with time, that too has changed. Instead of adventures, you got a college with a knack of having the same behavior has the Roman Colosseum and trouble meaning more of either putting up with the shit of people who somehow managed to be alive for how many years without actually having a life and then judge on others... meaning also physical pain from accidents or the visits to the local orthodontist who happens to have his license from American and also my favorite... the lack of patience and the increase of aggressive behavior against "other" civilized and monkey people.
One the things that comes constantly into my head is the unwilling losses that have happened ever since I came here, especially between the loss of patience, old reliable friends and the "usual" activities that one can do in... other countries. Of course not all of it goes to waste, as I have acquired an accomplice or rather a partner... And Lauren was her name, a being that has showed many secrets to this apocalyptic country but also that has showed that even when you just happen to be in the middle of a deserted wasteland, you can still find happiness and love. My past experiences have taken me so far although even with an outsider's look and non-African experiences, life still takes unexpected turns and unpleasant surprises. One can only learn so much, although when the day that I shall finalize the required amount of time... in it's turn the experiences acquired here will be a useful tool on the rest of the world. Hoping that too Lauren can join me when I embark my ass on a flying vehicle with "civilization" written on it. As for the 5 years of fun, good, hate, horrible, love, friendship that I had in Australia and for the many lessons and experiences gained that are always contributing to my attitude, character and charm... well it's what I now call
Remnants Of And Old Life.
